The West Elm Parsons Desk is really one of my favorite furniture pieces of the past two years. I have seen this desk run the spectrum of environments and look entirely at home in them all: from a lofty Gramercy Park townhouse to a lowly walk-up in Greenwich Village. The lacquered finish gives it a sleek sophistication and the drawers are a great place to hide clutter. The best part, however, is the price: $329, and I almost always find it on sale for $299 when I stroll through the store. They also have a mini version at 30" wide, but it seems better suited for a catch-all table than a work space.
In true shitty-chic style, my friend and amazing interior designer, Sara Story, coupled the parsons desk in white with amazing hand-painted De Gournay wallpaper for a mini office at her home. I love it!
