Tommy Ton's 2010 Best-Dressed

J'adore Tommy Ton.  His blog, Jak and Jil, is one of my daily 'must visits', and I always look forward to his slideshows on style.com.  Check out a few of my favorite looks from his 2010 Best-Dressed list.  Fashion moves fast, but style is yours forever, so I know I will be incorporating these sartorial twists into my 2011 repertoire.  Enjoy!

Aching for Inspiration in the A.M.

Some days I wake up in the morning and think it is going to take a sheer act of God for me to put in an effort to get dressed.  And, I don't mean dressed in a sense of just throwing on some clothes, but "dressed" in like you get invited to grab a drink with friends après work and don't have a panic attack thinking of having to run home to change.  Whenever I feel this dour mood upon me I immediately hop on my computer and head to the blog Jak & Jil shot by one of my favorite photogs, Tommy Ton.  It literally takes me 30 seconds of scrolling to get inspired, snipe a few looks I can pull together from my wardrobe, and get on with my day in a fashionable way.  Don't forget to check out the people in the background of his photos as well.  Many an outfit has been born from the side dish in the image.  His amazing photography has been a style savior on many occasions, and this morning is no exception.  This is a must bookmark!

Eye Candy at the Tents

Alas, New York Fashion week is having it's last go at the Bryant Park tents.  What interests me about Fashion Week (NY, Milan, Paris, London, etc.) is not necessarily what is walking down the runway.  In reality, it is going to be six months before I am ready to don the fall styles that are being seen, and I think the best bellwether of "right now" fashion is what people are wearing to the shows.  As always, my favorite fashion blogger/photog, Tommy Ton, has captured what the fashion-ettes wore to the tents this past week for Style.com.  I am seeing lots of leather (jackets & gloves), texture (fur & reptile), and unexpected blasts of color.  Enjoy and get those outfit creating wheels turning!
